A fleeting emotion, a melancholic memory, a hazy conversation: letras a un amor (letters to a love) is all of these and more. In the series of photographs, the artist reveals locations in which their queerness was either challenged, repressed, or celebrated. By visiting locations void of any physical presence of a human body and documenting them, the space in which one would be expected to be in generates a type of questioning, similar to that of what the artist held about their own identity at the time. In the photographs in which a human body is present, it becomes less about expectations of gender and sexuality and rather an exploration of these facets.
